Only my second order as a gift but the recipient loves the products. As always, I spent more than I meant to.
My order arrived exactly as promised. After adding a few herbs, putting a few thin slices of lemon in the cavity with a bit of butter and wrapping in foil. In the oven for 20 mins. Probably the best trout meal we have had according to she who must be obeyed😇

This is the second time I've used Mere Trout. I was really impressed with the flavour and quality of the hot smoked trout, so I came back for more. This time, including the large fresh trout. As anticipated, it is exceptional, delivering beyond expectation in freshness,taste and texture.
You know trout is fresh when it's still slimy. This was so fresh slime, bright eyes. Washed in salt, light rub with oil a few fronds of home grown fennel in the cavity, season grill serve 4-5 in our house. Fab!

This is my favourite farm to buy fish from. The fish tastes beautiful and I really appreciate the care the farmers put in to taking care of the river which the trout live in and not stressing out the fish with too much handling. Producing food is really hard work and I deeply appreciate farmers who choose to do it in a way that works in harmony with the animals and land, and it always tastes so much better! What beautiful products! Really thrilled with the top notch quality and the speed and efficiency of delivery. I ordered a variety of products, we'll eat the smoked trout fillets tonight and the others have gone into the freezer (potted trout, trout pate and sliced smoked trout). Also very impressed with clear instructions about whether the items are suitable for freezing. You can see that this has all been produced with great care and very high standards and that the food is beautiful, locally produced and lovely quality.
We are thoroughly enjoying our smoked trout at the moment. Ordering and delivery were both easy and precise, with our well wrapped and cooled package on our doorstep by 9am on our specified day of delivery, which we were very grateful for, as normal deliveries to us arrive after lunch.
